Moores Park Labyrinth

Walk Moores Park’s new labyrinth! This labyrinth was dedicated in 2008 to the good neighbors and citizens of the Moores Park Neighborhood, and in honor of J.H. Moores and the 100th anniversary of the Park.

Labyrinths have been in existence since ancient times and have had a variety of uses. In prehistoric times they are thought to have been used to hold evil spirits in the center. In medieval times they were very popular in churches where following the path of the labyrinth was meant to symbolize a pilgrimage. In modern times labyrinths are used as a means to inner peace through a meditation walk. Labyrinths differ from mazes in that they have one path to follow. This path leads into the center and then is followed back out.
