Recreation

Moores Park turned 100 years old in 2008! It has been a beautiful spot for residents to come and play for generations.

Come and visit our park, there’s lots to do:

Meditate: Walk our new Labyrinth.

Swim: Go swimming at the Pool.

Sports: There’s lots of wide open space to play baseball, soccer, dodge ball, and Frisbee.  Come play basketball, tennis, or shuffle board.

River Trail: The River Trail starts in our park – take a walk, a run, or bike ride to the zoo, the city market, or just wander through town along our beautiful rivers: the Grand River, the Red Cedar River, and Sycamore Creek.  River Trail Map

Nature: The Grand River flows through our park where you can fish, canoe, or kayak. Our park not only has lots of wide open space to play, but it’s full of beautiful old trees that provide shade during the summer and turn radiant with color in the fall.  The river and trees attract wildlife like sharp-shinned hawks, bats, and flying squirrels.

Picnicking and playgrounds: There are lots of spots to picnic in Moores Park and watch the kids play on the playground, all under the shade of our beautiful trees.
