Every Wednesday there is a FREE All-Levels Community Yogaclass at the Shabazz Academy Gym, 6:45-8:15 p.m. Yoga has been practiced by many cultures throughout history. It’s a fun, relaxing way to feel rejuvenated–without the hard workout. Workout mats are offered if needed. Please bring water and a smile! Kids Carnival - HUGE Success!

This year’s Kid’s Carnival was a HUGE success!! We think we had more people than ever before. Thanks to all those families that came to play and thanks to all those neighbors that helped out in one way or another (e.g., baking cakes, handing out hot dogs, or running games). And a special thanks to the in-coming MPNO president, Paul, and his family and friends for all the great games this year!!

Kids Carnival - HUGE Success!

MPNO Kid’s Carnival - Friday July 16th

Come on down to the annual MPNO Kid’s Carnival at the Moores Park Pavilion area tomorrow (July 16th) from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. It is a fun and affordable family event! Come play games and have dinner - for only $1.50 you can get a Meal Deal (hot dog, beans, chips, watermelon, cookies, and lemonade) — bring your own place setting and get it all for only $1.00!!! Tickets for games are 4 tickets for $1 — and most games cost just 1 ticket!! The Lansing Police Department K-9 Unit will also be giving a demonstration.

Come on down and have a FUN and EASY night with the family!! Hope to see you there!!

Moores Park Pool is open from June 17 to August 17 (weather permitting) from 1 to 7 pm daily. Admission is free. Come and enjoy the landmark pool!

A friendly reminder that we are all responsible for keeping our neighborhood safe! Our community Police Officers are great - but they can’t be everywhere all the time. So it is up to us to keep an eye out and to report suspicious activity. Our Police Officers REALLY DO want to hear from us! We are the first line of defense. Here are some numbers to have on your fridge:

Welcoming new neighbors

The Moores Park Neighborhood Organization delivered some welcome baskets to neighbors that have moved into the neighborhood within the last 6 months. Those of us that put the baskets together and/or delivered the baskets really enjoyed getting to welcome and meet new folks! And I think the new neighbors really appreciated the thought! We’d like to keep this effort going. We are not just a neighborhood but a community!!!
